RHUDE x Vans new Acer Ni SP and Diamo Ni collaboration!

RHUDE has been creating waves in the fashion scene since 2015, founder Rhuigi Villaseñor, having had his first-ever Paris Fashion Week in 2019 to various collaborations with heavy hitters. A large amount of Rhuigi’s inspiration coming from his upbringing in a California-based setting, the brand’s recent Spring/Summer 2020 collection contains various Californian-vintage style aesthetics that brings this to light.

As well as his collections prior, like his PFW debut where he brought Californian-street style to the catwalk. RHUDE also collaborated with CLOT where the two brands explore cigarette stylistics in a way that brought the East and the West together, called “Double Happiness”. Using China’s own brand cigarettes Double Happiness, American brand cigarettes Marlboro and the Hong Kong Film Seven Blows of the Dragon.

RHUDE have also collaborated with Vans on a retro-inspired bold NI collab which also pays homage to Californian heritage, which the designs are based on the location’s license plates. They are now continuing the collaboration with paisley designed silhouettes, using embroidery to stitch the iconic patterns on the crest of the Acer Ni and the Diamo.

The Acer Ni is pre-colored with a neon-style colorway making use of bright hot pink tones on the toe cap, subtly placed hint of lime green and majority bright orange on the upper, with popping neon yellow on the tongue and vibrant purple on the heel tab. The Diamo silhouette is less complex with its design, utilizing a complete white shade overlay, with embroidered paisley stitching. The intention with this shoe is for wearers to have complete creative freedom over the piece, allowing for them to dye and design however they see fit. Both silhouette designs using black and yellow checkered design for the sole.
